Healing Through Guitars
Power of Music
Exciting new research shows that music has the power to heal. Music therapy is now being used to treat asthma, Alzheimer's disease, depression and other illnesses. Music also helps reduce stress and anxiety. In fact, live music is being used in some oncology waiting rooms as a way to create a calming environment for patients.

Ella Rafferty
I love playing piano and guitar and enjoy spreading kindness through music. In my free time, I perform fun and uplifting music at senior homes and for immunocompromised members in my community. To quote Mary Poppins, "A Spoon Full of Sugar" really helps the medicine go down. I am now a sophomore at The University of Texas at Austin and I am only volunteering in the SF Bay Area during the summer and on breaks from school. During the school year, I perform for the immunocompromised in the Austin, Texas area. You can also contact me through my website: www.healingthroughguitarsaustin.com
When I’m not volunteering or learning new songs (I take requests!), I play Club Tennis for The University of Texas at Austin. However, My sister Caroline Rafferty is available year round in the SF Bay Area and sometimes we perform together.
